Bed and Breakfast

For our anniversary and Valentines day Stan gave me this

He conned Andrea and Nate into watching the kids for the weekend and he took me to a quaint little bed and breakfast outside of Lexington Kentucky.
It was an incredibly beautiful 160 year old home that used to be a plantation, and was also used as an encampment for the civil war.
They also raised Alpaca's
And sold lots of alpaca goods, which we were more than happy to try out

We had such a wonderful time just being together the two of us
And it was very romantic
Saturday morning after an incredible gourmet breakfast we drove on to Louisville and went to the temple.
We have so much going on in life right now, between a really demanding residency and three little kids, that maybe we forget just how important and rejuvenating it is to be Stan and DeNae for a day and a half. I love this man so much, but the care free passion and love that brought us together gets lost between snotty noses, broken bones, piles of bills, long hours and sleepless nights, and lots and lots of diapers. It was so good to feel love without any interruptions. I had a wonderful trip!

For our anniversary and Valentines day, I got Stan these. That's right folks, a pair of socks.
(but they're really cool running socks)

  1. Wow DeNae, thats special. Perhaps Andrea should give you a talk this time on a "good gift" for the hubby.

  8. I worked late tonight, and I can't tell you how much it warmed my heart to hear Leah's voicemail message on my way home!! I can't believe how much she's "grown" just since I was there! Amazing! And, a sign that it's time for another one. ;)

  9. Ok DeNae I know you have things to post about! You better post them or I will come steal the pictures and do it first ;)!!! But I do need copies....

  11. Cynthia, that's who. At least post a picture of the two of you out shopping, building snowmen, wrestling small children. Something. Anything?????

I was really looking forward to catching up with Cynthia but they completely ignored me, along with this blog and the rest of you. LOL!

  12. Why is Cynthia in WV? Also I was wondering how Tanya's house buying experience is going.
Sheila, do you remember when you and DeNae would write comments on my blog behind my back, knowing that I would never check it? I think I just took over DeNaes part. :)

  13. Cynthia is there to save DeNae from herself...or was it to save Ethan, Matthew, and Leah from DeNae, or maybe it was to save Stan, I'm really not sure.

Tanya had her home inspection last week and I think all was well with that and the kids had a great time playing in the yard. I don't have any more recent updates because . . . well . . . see my posts above. *sigh*

Speaking of your blog, Ri, have you checked it recently? I'm still posting behind your back. ;-) BTW: what were you doing up at 1:54 AM?????

  14. p.s. Andrea and Riann are BOTH beating you!

  15. I had a test today and I was up till 3:00 studying for it. The late night blog check was just a break to go with my bowl of ice cream.

  16. A test on Saturday?!?!?!? What kind of school do you go to???? Yummm. . . . Ice cream . . . . what kind?????

  17. Hahaha, you girls crack me up!! Just to comfort you Sheila, I am right here and she is ignoring me as well. I miss you this week as well!!
Honestly Ri I think if you sleep some that is suppose to help you retaint the information you study... you may want to try that! :)

  18. Same post?!?!?!?!? Are you kidding me?????????

  19. It was a stinkin' religion test for church history. I studied for 2 days and I still got a 68 on it. AGHER! But with the curve I'll get an 88 so I guess I should be happy. I just wish he would test us on things that we learned instead of what he had for breakfast that morning or whatever the crap is on his tests.

  20. I probably could have passed it for you, Ri. Tell me what you wanna know about the church. ;-p

Is DeNae ever going to post again???

  21. Sheila, your awesome.

So how do I go about picking on DeNae for not updating her blog? obviously she does not read our comments or else she would be SOOO embarrassed that she might actually say or write something.
Also, Rachelle hasn't posted anything new on her blog either. At first I gave her the benefit of the doubt because she must have been occupied with Hyrum being home and all. But now she has to get back on the ball. My sisters are all slackers, thats why I have decided to adopt Sheila and Andrea. At least they know how to gossip properly. :)

  22. Indeed! Andrea and I are true gossipers. ;-) That must be why we get along so fabulously!

Now I'm starting to wonder if maybe we can make it all the way through March with only this post. The question then would be, how do we make her NOT post? Hmmmmmmm . . . . . .

  23. Muhahahha! I like how you think. Such a challenge is a worthy goal to pursue. There are still 15 days left in this month and past experiences have shown us that she does not post when she has company at her house. That means we need to hire a common looking person to play the part of a long lost friend. (she has so many she will never know the difference.) Then we need to get DeNae to invite the actor to stay at her place for 15 days. This will be so simple.
I'll be in my underground lire if you need me.

  24. LOL! You ARE on those PICU drugs again!!! I love you, Ri!

You know, I'm really enjoying this quality time we are spending together on DeNae's blog. I'm hoping this common-looking-friend plan of yours will work. Wait a minute! Are you saying that I'M common looking?????? Hmmmmmmm . . . . because I happen to think much more highly of myself than that. . . . I kid. I kid. I think your plan is genius! Which part of the country should this friend be from?

BTW: wasn't Valentine's Day over a month ago?? At this rate, maybe we should aim for the next post at Christmas???

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ri, did you send in the commoners yet??? DeNae is threatening to update her blog . . . . we need to move QUICK!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm BAAAAACK!!!! Now read it in a sing song voice. By the way I had the coolest friend drop by the other day...It took me a while to place where I knew them from, but they told me how much fun we used to have together I knew at one point in time we had been best friends. At least that's what she said.
